FRIDAY NOVEMBER 16 1700HRS

A GOOD DAY FOR CANADA
With two players, Jonathon Power and Graham Ryding in the main draw, Canada could well swamp the field after today's first round of qualifying matches. Shahier Razik, Ian Power and Doug Parent all had comfortable wins to go through to the final qualifying round tomorrow where the four winners will go through to the main draw.

Razik's run of good results turned sour recently and he some poor results ended when he had to retire from his last tournament with an injury. But with Rodney Durbach, Nick Mathew and Anthony Rickets still in contention the three Canadians will be facing very touch competition to go through the show court on Sunday. The qualifying rounds are being palyed at the Fitness Institute and Clive Caldwell's very classy Cambridge Club
