Dunlop Sports Group Started Up Dec 1 2005 in South Carolina

Dunlop sponsored player, Amr Shabana, has just won the World Open squash championship for the second time in three years. But Dunlop, whose new model squash racquets are difficult to come by in the USA at the present time, has not been in a strong position to take advantage of that marketing . But as of December 1st, all that, according to Dunlop is changing.

On December 1, 2005, Dunlop Sports Group Americas (DSGA) commenced operations for USA and Canada, signalling a new chapter in their long history in the squash market.

This concludes a fall season of supply chain problems for Dunlop in the USA, following a disagreement with Dunlop's exclusive squash distributor in the USA. The disagreement was resolved and Dunlop, who had ceased operations in the USA a year and a half ago in favor of a sole distributor, Focus Golf Systems, has reentered the US market with its own staff and its own facilities.

According to a source close to Dunlop, "The DSGA warehouse is shipping, and new IT system is humming. Tennis balls, badminton shuttles and squash balls will be arriving daily and will ship as soon as they hit the warehouse."

Throughout the fall, squash balls and Dunlop racquets have been in short supply in the USA and there were reports and accusations the "dumping" of Dunlop products through some outlets.

Dunlop DSGA has hired a public relations firm and moved to solve the problems of the recent past as well as generate positive momentum for the brand in the USA.

According to the source, Dunlop squash balls are expected to be available in "limited" supply starting in about a week, while Dunlop racquets will begin moving through the US Supply chain at the beginning of January.
