Record Sponsorship Announced by ‘Artemis’ for Edinburgh Squash Tournament.

Artemis, the Edinburgh based investment management company, have agreed to sponsor the Edinburgh Open Squash Championships - to be held at the Edinburgh Sports Club on 27-29 January 2006 - for a sixth consecutive year with an increased prize fund of £10,000; making it the richest ever event on the BSPA Head UK Grand Prix.

BSPA BASELINE
The BSPA (British Squash Professionals Association), established a number of years ago by British touring pros who were dissatisifed with the level of "local" competition available to them in the UK via the SRA, has a strong a growing series of events in the UK, under the blanket sponsorship of Head Racquet sports.

The event is now firmly established on the Grand Prix and has attracted some of the world’s leading players since 2001, including Scotland’s former World No.1 John White, England’s Nick Matthew, former World Champion Cassie Jackman and current World No.1 Rachel Grinham.

Mark Tyndall, the Chief Executive of Artemis says “ Since the inaugural event six years ago the Edinburgh Open Squash Championships have grown in stature as well as popularity. Artemis is delighted to be able to sponsor this event, and hopes that the increased prize fund this year will accelerate this process.”
