iSport Takes Advantage of Ground Broken at '06 British Open

ISport Management, the squash events company controlled by UK-based promoter Paul Walters, has announced its England Grand Prix, held for the past two years in Manchester as a non-ranking eight-man invitational, has now moved southeast to Nottingham, and picked up Prince as a major sponsor.

It is logical for this Grand Prix event to move to Nottingham (FROM Manchester), due to the move, announced last week, of the British Open TO Manchester, while Nottingham had provided sponsorship for the British Open there last year. With the events barely two weeks apart, holding them both in the same city is impractical from a sponsorship and spectator viewpoint.

Prince announced their appointed as the 'Official Racket' of the English Grand Prix – Nottingham 2007, a new Men’s PSA World Tour event.

The English Grand Prix – Nottingham 2007, which be held at the University of Nottingham from 6-9 September, will feature the world’s leading players, as well as a full programme of masters and junior events.

Prince has confirmed a three-year contract as the official racket sponsor of the event.

Tournament Promoter Paul Walters, of internationalSPORTgroup, said: “The English Grand Prix – Nottingham 2007 will take place between 6th to 9th September and will be a five-star event on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Men’s World Tour.  Our relationship with Prince will bring a great deal to the championships and we are very excited at the prospect of working closely with them in establishing a hugely successful long term addition to the professional squash circuit in the UK.

“Further details and announcements are scheduled over the coming few months, outlining agreements which are currently being finalised with other event partners,” added Walters.
