FEATURED CAMPS:
THE
PRINCETON SQUASH CAMP: [Camp information]
has above all provided a consistency in it's quality. The camp gets great results for its participants. The focus at this camp is very much on strokes, drilling, conditioning, strategy, and mental preparation. Housing on campus. This camp takes on the personality of its principal director, Gail Ramsay. Ramsay, a dominant competitor during her college and post-college days, is meticulous in her approach, attentive to the strengths and weaknesses of a player, and open-minded to new methods. The camp draws on a regular group of experienced coaches, many of whom have staffed this camp for multiple summers. This camp takes a structured approach, both during training periods and during recreational periods. THE
TALBOTT SQUASH ACADEMY [Camp
information] Talbott has assembled an impressive and proven team including Mike Riley, Brian O'Hora, Paul Ansdell, Julian Welling and others. THE
POWER SQUASH ACADEMY [Camp
information]
Jonathon Power is the face of modern squash in North America. He is the world #1 player at 31, having made a remarkable run back up to the top of the world rankings after relinquishing that position 4 1/2 years ago. Power is by no means a conventional squash competitor or teacher. He is a self-made competitor, a self-made enterpreneur and now a self-made teacher. Jonathon Power has an infectious enthusiasm for squash, and we are betting that his Power Squash Academy will be a succesful enterprise for raising the level of squash in the USA. The only thing we can tell you for sure about his approach, is that it will not be the same as the approach of other camps! WESTCHESTER
SQUASH PERSONAL PROGRAM [Camp
information] Westchester squash is Richard Millman. Millman is an intense teacher, and very committed to his methods and his students. He feels a responsibility for the ongoing progress of his students, whether they spend a short or long time with him. He surrounds himself with an ever changing group of young pros who are committed to their own squash and knowledgeable about how to teach the game. Westchester Camps is a great program for juniors who are determined and committed to improving their squash. For players coming from out of town, the program provides accomodation at coaches homes and local student's homes. The instruction is truly individualized and has a great record of success in maximizing the potential of individual students. The camp recommends attending at least two sessions to maximize the benefits of the program. ULTIMATE SQUASH CAMP [Camp
information]
This is a new camp, but has all the ingredients for a superior camp experience. Gareth Webber and Julia Webber, the tournament organizers have a wealth of formal training in the sports education as well as practical experience with the Yale Squash Program. Webber is a graduate of the acclaimed University of Wales Squash degree program, and is one of the few qualified "Level III" coaches operating in the US. He has assembled a great supporting cast including Neil Harvey, Lynn Leong (former junior girl world #2), Julian Illingworth and others. WORLD
CLASS SQUASH CAMP [Camp
information] Director Jon Goldstein is dedicated to the science and art of squash and consistently put together camp programs that are memorable and valuable to their attendees. In a new direction for his camp, Goldstein is this year working with world #3 David Palmer and the Antewp-based Shaun Moxham as well as with top pro L J Anjema and Wesleyan coach Shona Kerr.
