Amherst Sports Information Office 14th RANKED AMHERST MEN'S SQUASH DISMANTLES VASSAR, 9-0 AMHERST, MA - For the second time in as many days, the 14th ranked Amherst College men's squash team pitched a shutout. After blanking host Tufts University in their season-opener on Tuesday, the Jeffs hosted Vassar College on Wednesday and whitewashed the Brewers, 9-0, dropping just one game in the process. Vik Lakhwara was the lone Vassar player to steal a game from the Jeffs, falling to top-seeded Amherst junior co-captain Carlo Valdesolo (Andover, MA), 1-3 (9-3, 4-9, 6-9, 2-9). The Jeffs posted shutout wins in every other match to improve to 2-0 on the season. After a sizeable holiday layoff, Amherst returns to action on Saturday, January 12, hosting Bates College at 3 p.m. and Cornell University at 7 p.m. at the Davenport Courts.
