Trinity Races Through Field of Eleven

TRINITY WOMEN’S SQUASH BREEZES THROUGH NESCAC CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY

Trinity Sophomore Nayelly Hernandez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) allowed just four points scored against her in three 3-0 wins to lead the Trinity College Bantams to 9-0 triumphs over the Amherst College Lord Jeffs, the Colby College Mules, and the Williams College Ephs in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women’s Squash Championship Tournament this weekend at the George A. Kellner Squash Center.

Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the nation improves to 11-2 and takes its with its second consecutive conference crown.  Trinity won 25 of the 27 matches by 3-0 score.  Eph sophomore Toby Eyre (Gladwyne, Pa.), ranked No. 8 in the nation, took Bantam senior co-captain Lauren Polonich (Calgary, Alberta), ranked No. 4 nationally, to five games in a valiant losing effort in the finals.
