William Smith Collects Second Place

St Lawrence College , Nov 18 2007 -

Hamilton College rolled to its second straight Liberty League women’s squash championship at St. Lawrence University’s Robie Squash Center, winning all three of its matches by 9-0 scores.

The closest anyone came to the Continentals was second-place William Smith which pushed three matches to five games from three through five in the lineup in the first match of the tournament, but Leila Clifford, Courtney Kollmer and Natalie Schwerin all won decisive fifth games to keep Hamilton’s string of 9-0 wins intact.

The Continentals beat St. Lawrence 9-0 with eight of the nine matches decided by 3-0 scores and turned back Vassar 9-0, again with only one match going past three games.

William Smith beat Vassar 9-0 and turned back St. Lawrence 8-1 to finish second while the Saints beat Vassar 6-3 for their first win of the year and were third in the tournament.
