CSA Championships, Trophies and Awards

The Skillman Award (Award for Sportsmanship)
Procedure and Criteria
The award will be presented at the Team Tournament banquet. The award will be based on the player's entire collegiate career. Only Seniors may be nominated for the award. Teams will vote on the award at the Annual General Meeting

A.The candidate shall be evaluated on the following areas:
1. On court poise and demeanor
2. Skill level and ability in the game of squash
3. Team play
4. Contribution to intercollegiate squash
5. Leadership
6. Cooperation with players, coaches, and tournament officials

B. The President shall appoint an Awards Committee chairperson who shall coordinate the choice of the Skillman Award and any other awards as directed by the President. The Chairperson shall select two members to serve on the committee. These members shall represent a cross-section of all NISRA teams.

C. The Awards Chairperson shall solicit nominations for the Skillman Award by emailing the criteria to each coach with an invitation to nominate a player and provide supporting information, not to exceed three paragraphs in length. .

D. The Executive Committee shall select the candidates.

E. Notification of these candidates and a copy of the supporting data shall be given to each coach at the Team Championship Tournament. The coach shall, after consultation with his/her team, come to the Team Championship meeting prepared to vote.

F. Each college has one vote. The votes are to be in writing and collected by the President. If a team cannot be represented, the President may collect their votes prior to the meeting.

BARNABY TROPHY - MOST IMPROVED TEAM
The Barnaby Trophy is awarded to the team showing the most improvement over the previous season record. Any coach may nominate a team for this award. If you have a team to nominate (including your own) please be prepared to bring supporting documentation/information to the coaches meeting where the trophy will be voted on.

TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP TROPHY
The Coaches Award for Team Sportsmanship is awarded to the team judged by their peers to have best displayed the highest level of sportsmanship during the season. A quote from one of Clarence Chaffee's (Williams Coach) former players may best describe the conduct that this award represents, a team where there is "-a sense of esprit de corps, of sportsmanship, of hard but fair play, of being gracious in victory and defeat, and enjoying the camaraderie and pride of being part of a team."
