Dartmouth Women:
Still Very Strong

Women's 05-06 Season Outlook:
Hanover NH. The Dartmouth women are coming off probably their best performance ever, finishing a solid fifth in the season and again at the Howe Cup. Though it will be tough they are hoping that they can duplicate this very solid effort.

Julia Drury a leader in the Dartmouth 05-06 Campaign.

Graduating last spring were Kelly Sennatt and Martha Ucko, two great team players who were solid performers throughout their college career.

Unfortunately the recruiting year did not go as well as hoped and only one young woman, Madeline Lurio, will be arriving to fill the gap.

Madeline will hopefully be vying for a spot in the top half of the order.
She will certainly have her work cut out for her however as all returnees (Christie Alexander excepted) will be out to secure their former positions.
Unfortunately Christie has undergone a knee operation and will be sidelined for the season.

Fellow super sophs Ashley Malenchak and Rebecca Loucks will be back near the top with a year's experience under their belts, and juniors Avery Eyre, Emilie Mackie and Heather Lisle will be called upon to maintain their very consistent performance of the past two years.

The leadership this year will come from our three seniors: Julia Drury (Buffalo), Jess Tory (Montreal) and Jessica Vyrostko (Guelph, ON). Julia, who has played #1 for most of her college career was pushed very hard last season by Christie, but with her unfortunate absence it is expected that Julia will lead the way again. The two Jessicas with their contrasting styles of play will again be solid performers in the middle of the ladder.

This season with the shortage of two starters, last year's backups Catherine Haldeman and Francis Battin will be called upon often to carry the torch.
