Navy Men: Rebuilding with Strong Blocks.

Men's 05-06 Season Outlook:
The 05-06 Navy squash team will rebuild with four starters from last season having graduated. As many as seven freshmen and sophmores could be playing in the top nine. However, with three of the top four letterman returning, the squad will be strong at the top. In addition two seniors will be playing in the midddle of the lineup and four nationally ranked freshmen will complete the squad.

Featured home matches will be Hobart, Dartmouth, Penn, and Yale all ranked ahead of Navy. An early trip to Chicago to play Northwestern will be a new experience. Navy will continue to play more matches than any school in the league. Rivals Bowdoin, Bates, and F&M will be tough away matches.

The team's goals are to improve as a group and win at any spot on the ladder. Sights are set on the end of the season Nationals where the team hopes to have reached its peak.

Navy's #1 player, sophmore Tucker George returns in great shape, having trained during the summer after his Navy at sea cruise. He will be backed up by senior captain, Scott Hackman, who played great squash last season. Seniors Pat Kruse and Dhruv Parashar will give the team experience. Another player to watch is two sport athlete Jeff Sawin who will play squash and golf again this year.

Navy had another good recruiting year with six squash players in the class of 2009, and four expected to play for the varsity. Alastir Smith from Taft School, and Kit Zipf,Will Pappas, and Michael Beautyman, the Philadelphia trio, are all expected to contribute.

Navy's four seniors from last season are now serving their country. Gavin Morrison is on a ship in Florida, Mike Brennan and Mike Rogers are Marines, and Luke Koran is in graduate school at Texas before going to Naval flight school.
