Three time World Squash Champion, today capped her eight month road back from knee surgery with a convincing win over current world women's squash champion Cassie Campion from England, 9-7, 9-7, 9-4 in 41 minutes. The win, in the semi finals of the Com4Net Munich Open, puts Fitz-Gerald against the winner of tonight's other semi-final between Australian Carol Owens and Briton Tania Bailey. Fitz-Gerald was elated after her victory this evening. "I have worked really hard to prepare for this day, but no matter how well you prepare, you never know how your body and mind will perform in the heat of competition. I was able to execute my game plan flawlessly, playing to my strengths and Cassie's weak points." Fitz-Gerald was able to keep the match at a furious pace, using hard hitting, good length, and quickness to keep Cassie Campion on the defensive. Fitz-Gerald is looking forward to tomorrow's final. "I am happy whichever way the other semi turns out," said Fitz-Gerald. "It would be great to match up against last week's Grand Prix Final winner, Carol Owens, in an all Australian final. But it would also be great to play one of the finest up and coming young players, Tania Bailey. I am looking forward to the match either way." Sarah Fitz-Gerald, is a professional squash player from Melbourne, Australia.
