Teran Topples Canadian Star In Vancouver Final

Top-seeded Mexican Samantha Teran fought back from two games down, and survived a tie-break in the decider, to beat Canadian star Melanie Jans Burke in the final of the Women's Vancouver Squash International in Canada.

Second seed Jans Burke, the Toronto-born coach at the Vancouver host club, looked to be heading to a popular upset over the favourite who despatched her semi-final opponent without dropping a single point!

But 23-year-old Teran, from Mexico City, came back to spoil the local party and win 3-9 2-9 9-3 9-5 10-8 to claim her first WISPA World Tour title of the year.

RESULTS: Women's Vancouver Squash International, Vancouver, Canada

Final:
[1] Samantha Teran (MEX) bt [2] Melanie Jans Burke (CAN) 3-9, 2-9, 9-3, 9-5, 10-8
