Reliable sources suggest that Peter Nicol has pulled out of the British Open. According to unconfirmed reports, Peter has definitely decided he can't play.

Last weekend, he suffered an achilles tendon injury during an exhibition, and the past few days have not seen a sufficient improvement in his condition.

This development leaves Jonathon Power as a favorite to repeat his 1999 title and is a major disappointment to the number one in the world.
