GREEN WINS PAN AM INDVIDUAL SQUASH GOLD
BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil-- Top-seed Margo Green of Ottawa won the women's final Tuesday at the Pan Am squash championships.

Green, 28, defeated Samantha Redan of Mexico 5-9, 9-5, 9-0, 9-7 for her first international victory. "I was anticipating a pretty tough match and that's what happened," said Green, ranked third in Canada. "I felt a lot of pressure in the first game and had trouble settling in. So I changed my game plan and tried to be more aggressive."

Ian Power of Toronto, the younger brother of world number-two Jonathon Power, lost his bronze medal match and placed fourth. The men's and women's team event gets underway Wednesday.
