Hong Kong Squash 2000!

Power Digs Deep to Compete in Hong Kong by Dunlop Sports© 2000

After withdrawing from the recent Al-Ahram International in Egypt after injuring his knee in the semi-finals, the world's most charismatic and exciting player, Jonathon Power, has confirmed his entry in the $84,000 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Open Squash Championship, 29th August to 3rd September.

"I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to come to Hong Kong because the injury was not as bad as I first thought," Power told Hong Kong's South China Morning Post. "At first, the doctor said I'd be out for three weeks, but I saw another doctor and he said I would only need five days to recover. I have already rested for five days. I love Hong Kong and the tournament and I am already feeling much better. I want to compete in Hong Kong and I am feeling optimistic about my chances," said Power, the 1998 champion, and a finalist for the past three years.

Dunlop's latest signing Joseph Kneipp meets Scotland's defending champion Peter in the opening round, and the brand's unrivalled status as the world's number one squash company is shown by over a third of the players competing in the championship using Dunlop.
