Senior Katie Patrick (Edmonton, Alberta) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the last two games at No. 1 as the Penn women's squash team defeated Harvard, 5-4, Saturday afternoon to advance to the national championship of the Howe Cup. The Quakers, 10-0 this season, advance to Sunday's Howe Cup final at 1:00 p.m. and will face No. 2 Princeton, a 6-3 winner over Trinity. Penn claimed 3-0 wins at the Nos. 2-5 spots, led by freshman Runa Reta (Ottawa, Ontario), who defeated Carlin Wing, 9-1, 9-3, 9-5 at No. 2. Junior Rina Borromeo (Philippines) posted a 9-0, 9-2, 9-3 victory at No. 3, while junior Helen Bamber (Zimbabwe) won, 9-1, 9-1, 9-3, at No. 4. Junior Lauren Patrizio (Philadelphia, Pa.) captured a 9-2, 10-8, 9-4 win at the No. 5 spot. Harvard was strong at the bottom of the lineup, claiming victories at the Nos. 6-9 spots. Penn senior Patti Lin (Toms River, N.J.) battled from a 2-0 deficit at No. 9 to tie her match, 2-2, before falling to Katie Gregory, 9-4, in the deciding game.
