Makes Hay
Amidst turbulent late winter
weather in the USA, four Americans and one Mexican failed to advance
in action yesterday and today at Chicago's University Club. Preston
Quick, Tim Wyant, and host pro John Flanigan all fell in first
round qualifying. The exciting young pro from Mexico City, Eric
Galvez, also failed to advance.
The one bright spot was David
McNeeley's straight-game win over Rob McFadzean, though he ultimately
was stopped today by Irish Champion John Rooney. Rooney was joined
inthe main draw by Nathan Dugan, Ritwik Bhattacharya, and Stacy
Ross.
First round action begins
tomorrow.
