Cairo must be good for her game! Rachael Grinham, top-seeded this weekend, has been based in Cairo for the past season. That move has coincided with a step-function increase in her game's winning formula.

On Sunday Grinham, a member of the Australian national team, put an end to the giant-killing performance of England's Vicky Botwright when she beat the sixth seed in
straight games in the final of the $18,000 Women's Vassar College Class of 1932 Squash Open in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA.

A crowd estimated at 150 watched Grinham effectively stop Botwright's momentum that she has enjoyed for the past three weeks. Botwright, who had advanced to her second WISPA World Tour final in two weeks, was unable to duplicate the attacking style she employed in the semi-final against No2 seed Vanessa Atkinson and in the quarter-finals against third-seeded compatriot Fiona Geaves.

Despite the world No18 from Manchester's great efforts to keep the ball tight and deep, Grinham had a higher repertoire of creative shots and controlled the entire match unleashing a barrage of crowd-thrilling winners from all corners of the court, in typical Egyptian style, before claiming her 9-0, 9-5, 9-4 victory.

Grinham, the 26-year-old world No8 from Queensland, won a welcome 11th WISPA World Tour title - after an unexpected quarter-final exit in last week's Greenwich Open in Connecticut.
