France
Beats South Africa [The
Pools]
After Canada’s upset, France followed suit and beat South Africa to win Pool F and earn a bye into the quarter finals. France, seeded seven, were one below South Africa and the two countries played a nail-biting match with a noise level that exceeded the USA vs Canada encounter. Malaysia will play the winner of tomorrow’s game between the USA and France. Based on their performance against Germany I don’t think they will find the going easy against either of those teams. In the preliminary seeding before the tournament started England were third and Malaysia fifth, but as no England player reached the round of 16 in the individuals and Malaysia had three players, the positions were switched. Their seeding of three flatters them.

F THE
SHAKEDOWN That will leave South Africa, Canada, USA and New Zealand to fight for the 5-8 places which should be more fun and have more drama than watching the top four. So
tomorrow the fun really starts. No more Miss Nice Gal – the nails
