Favourites Flourish In Swiss Open Finals

The two top seeds beat their second-seeded opponents in straight games in the finals of the Sigma Swiss Open Squash Championships to lift the titles for the first time in the 32nd staging of the event in Geneva.

Men's favourite Shahier Razik faced England's No2 seed Phillip Barker, a runner-up three times in 2004 in his comeback year on the PSA Tour after graduating. Cairo-born Canadian Razik, 27, from Toronto, swept to an 11-9 11-4 11-6 victory to pick up his seventh PSA title - but his first away from the North and South American continents.

England's Dominique Lloyd-Walter, top seed in the women's event, reached the final against compatriot Lauren Briggs without dropping a game. The 23-year-old world No28 from Harrow in Middlesex, a former European Junior champion, conceded just four points as she brushed aside her Essex opponent 9-3 9-0 9-1 to lift her second WISPA World Tour crown.
