Sharon Wee became the second Malaysian winner of a WISPA World Tour title in 48 hours when she beat England's Suzie Pierrepont in the final of the Women's Savcor Finnish Open Squash Championship at the Sport Forum in Mikkeli.

Belgium-based Wee, the Malacca-born top seed, had survived a tough five-game semi-final battle against Belgium's 17-year-old European Junior Champion Charlie de Rycke before taking on Pierrepont, the fifth seed from Sussex who was making her debut in a WISPA final.

Wee was fully stretched by Pierrepont, but the 27-year-old Malaysian ultimately prevailed 9-5 9-4 8-10 9-3 to claim the fourth WISPA title of her career.

It was two days earlier that Wee's Malaysian team-mate and regular training partner Nicol David snatched the biggest title of her career when she won the Kuwait Open crown in Kuwait City.

Final:
[1] Sharon Wee (MAS) bt [5] Suzie Pierrepont (ENG) 9-5, 9-4, 8-10, 9-3
