Christopher Gordon, playing out of the UK in the hotbet of pro squash
PR, is used to having his efforts followed by the squash press, Ben
Oliner labors in relative obscurity. Today, Oliner was on the verge
of a big upset, standing one game up and on the verge in the second;
but Gordon escaped on a close play and close game, recovered and advanced
to the semi finals.
Meanwhile,
Jamie Crombie, veteral pro and US Team member was upset by All-American
college player, Gilly Lane, the #1 player at UPENN.
On
the women's side, newly crowned US Women's Intercollegiate champ, Lily
Lorentzen stopped Harvard grad Louisa Hall.
Young
stars Meredeth Quick, Michelle Quibell, Preston Quick and Julian Illingworth
all advanced.
