Macree Corners Horner For Place In Vassar Final England's Rebecca Macree forced her way into the final of the Vassar College Class of '32 Women's Squash Open in Poughkeepsie, New York, for the second year running after defeating the title-holder Suzanne Horner in a repeat of last year's final. Macree, the London-based world No11, upset the top seed 9-4 9-2 9-2 to reach the 15th WISPA World Tour final of her career, and the first since the Vassar Class of '32 climax 14 months ago. Macree fully utilised her short game to take advantage of the mobility problems suffered by Horner who injured her ankle in a fall in her quarter-final match against Engy Kheirallah. The other semi-final saw Scotland's Pamela Nimmo push number two seed Vanessa Atkinson to a four-game encounter before the Dutch champion claimed her 9-3, 9-0, 2-9, 9-4 win. Atkinson is celebrating her 10th WISPA final, just six weeks after reaching the climax of the Southport Open in Connecticut, also in the USA.
