HIGH LOCAL INTEREST
Squash continues to be of prime National pride and interest to Pakistanis everywhere. Nowhere was this more apparent than in the intense interest focused on the resurgant Pakistani Open, now in 2002 a world-class event.

16 PLAY DOWN FOR 8 SPOTS
With so many local players aspiring to the PSA ranks, a prequalifier was held to give sixteen local players the opportunity to join 24 PSA regulars in a strong qualifying event, which begins today

The main surprise of the prequalifier was the early ouster of leading Pakistani junior player, Khalid Atlas who ran into non-stop determination from Asghar Khan.

Prequalifying results, Pakistan Open Prequalifier, Punjab Squash Complex, Lahore, Pakistan, March 19:

Muhammad Ilyas (Punjab) bt Adeel Hanif (Punjab) 15-5, 15-10, 15-4.
