Not so fast youngsters!

With the British press having all but written-off the "old guard" — namely the top five of the past two years, Nicol, Power, and Palmer showed quite emphatically tonight that they are not ready to cede any power yet; and explosive but mercurial Martin Heath rejoined the party.

PALMER DISMISSES BEACHILL
Lee Beachill, who did a nice job of neutralizing David Palmer in Toronto last November (see YMG '01 match ) this time faced a rested and rejuvinated David Palmer, newly re-signed by Head and ready to show Lee Beachill that Toronto may have been an aberrant result.

POWER MESMERIZES
Meanwhile, Jonathon Power, the only one of the "western" style players that the Pakistani's openly admire for his creativity (Sharif Khan was a strong supporter during Power's recent appearances in Toronto), brought all his stuff to the Fortress Stadium tonight, thriving on the relative inexperience of Amr Shabana.

Power, who's approach is deceivingly hard to solve, showed once again that it takes a thoughtful and experienced foe to stop his constantly shifting tactics as he wowed the crowd, who had watched Shabana take Amjad apart in a rough pushing and shoving match the night before (see Walker's account)

The rest of the wins were Scottish ones, with Peter Nicol and Martin Heath both winning setting up another showdown between the Glasgow emotional attack and the Aberdeen restrained defense. With Martin bringing (so far) has "A" game, it should be a great match.
