MARCUS SMITH CLAIMS DARTMOUTH MUDBOWL CROWN
Unseeded Australian Marcus Smith displayed a great array of attacking shots, all-court coverage and solid fitness to overcome qualifier Joey Barrington in the final of the Dartmouth Mudbowl PSA Satellite Event.

Though he had to withstand five game contests in the first round and the semis Smith was the stronger of the two for the final on Sunday.

Joey Barrington was given the iron man award having to play 6 matches in four days as well as suffering through a bout of food poisoning. In the final the effort was there but the legs gave out. He just wasn't able to match the constant pressure of Smith.

Semi-Finals:
Joey Barrington bt Ben Howell 15-11, 15-12, 15-12 (65 min)
Marcus Smith bt Shawn de Lierre (14), 8, (11), 10, 9 (67 min)

Finals:
Marcus Smith bt Joey Barrington (13-15), 15-4, 15-8, 15-11(57 min)

Quarter-final results:
Barrington bt Rooney 15-5, 13-15, 15-12, 25-5
Howell bt Hopkins 11-15, 15-12, 13-15, 15-13, 15-5
Smith bt Sinclair 15-8,15-5,15-8
DeLierre bt Stait 12-15, 15-13,6-15, 15-8, 15-10
