Top seeds Sarah Fitz-Gerald, the world No1 from Australia, and Natalie Pohrer, the world No5 from England, will meet in the final of the Women's Squashworks Open after straight games semi-finals wins in Salt Lake City, USA.

US-based second seed Pohrer punished third-seeded compatriot Tania Bailey, beaten finalist in last month's British Open, 9-3 9-2 9-0.

"I played a lot in the front part of the court," Pohrer said. "I was a little on edge because Tania has been playing so well and that feeling really never left me the whole match, though I calmed down a bit." Bailey tried to slow down Pohrer but Pohrer's control of the match prevented that. "I like to power it more than she does," said Pohrer. "She plays it more traditionally, keeping it up and down for a longer game. My goal is to up the pace and change direction of the ball a lot."

Favourite Fitz-Gerald finished off England's 4th seed Jenny Tranfield 9-5 9-1 9-6.

"My first two matches were [over] a little fast, and this match, with Jenny being a better player, gave me a chance to pick up my level," Fitz-Gerald said. "Playing Natalie is going to be tough. I haven't played her since January and she's a lot fitter now than she was."

Pohrer reaches the final after success in last month's Hurghada International in Egypt, while Fitz-Gerald follows April WISPA World Tour triumphs in the British Open and World Grand Prix Finals. It will be the pair's first meeting since the Australian's semi-final win in the Tournament of Champions in New York in January.
