In the third, Pohrer led 6-2 when Fitz-Gerald broke back to take the serve and the win. . "In the third, she made a couple of errors and I made a couple of winners and that let me back in. Then, all I was trying to do was make the rallies longer and tougher." said Fitz-Gerald of her escape The US success by the four-times world champion from Melbourne, unbeaten since August last year, takes her WISPA career title tally to 54. Afterwords Pohrer, who is establishing herself as one of the few on tour who can challenge Fitz, lauded her opponent: "I made a few too many errors," she said. "I went for shots when I didn't have to. Sarah plays at a different pace. She takes the ball a whole lot earlier, which is the way I like to play, but I had to adjust to that. It was a completely different level than in the earlier rounds. It's almost like you have to be smacked around the chops a little bit before you go on court with her." Fitz-Gerald now heads for San Francisco where she is top seed in the Sportkit International Challenge which begins on Thursday and in which she is expected to meet England's Stephanie Brind in the final.
