Australians Kuskely and Arnold also Advance

Three Canadians, Ian Power, David Phillips and Ottawa’s Robin Clarke all advanced through to the second round of qualification at the GoodLIfe Squash Open here in Ottawa today.  All three Canadians won comfortably by 3/0 scores.

The match of the day took place between Welshman  Rob Sutherland and Aussie Ryan Cuskelly.   The players traded momentum in the first four games to tie at two games apiece and the deciding fifth game was very much like an English Premier football game of this season. That is, some errors, some great play and some dubious refereeing decisions.  The Australian Cuskelly emerged from the fray on top, winning by an 11-9 margin in that final game.
