Canadian Shawn Delierre today won the GoodLife Open in Ottawa beating Eric Galvez in 5 games in an all out attacking match in front a partisan fan group. Delierre lost the first game with a slow start he had exhibited throughout the week. He appeared to be feeling his opponent out, before stepping up his game. In the second & third game, Delierre showed great movement, getting on to Galvez’s short balls quickly and counterattacking. Delierre also opened up his game hitting a variety of winners from the mid court forcing the Mexican off balance. In the fourth Delierre came back to earth, hitting three unforced errors, more than he had hit all match up to that point, letting Galvez back into the fourth game and the match. In the fifth game, with the score at 5-4, Eric scrapped his knee resulting in an injury time out to get patched up. Once back on court the Mexican had lost his momentum and his intensity and instead the Canadian was easily able to win the fifth 11-4. GOODLIFE
