OLSEN BRINGS NEW COURTS TO DAYTON

Two new courts coming to Dayton.

First, there was the generosity and foresight of Tom Olsen, a Dayton area dermatologist, who built a first-rate squash facility in 1999.

The year 2000 will bring two additional courts, larger locker rooms and the promise of more promotion of the game, thanks to Olsen, who works with Cincinnati teaching pro Charlie Johnson on programming and growth.

Existing junior, women and beginner programs will have room to grow, as will the annual "Baby Boomers" Tournament that attracted 60 players in February 2000.

On a recent Sunday morning, six players were on the three ASB courts and six were waiting their turn. a sure sign of growth. Currently, the Dayton Squash Center has membership in the 60s, with a goal to double that in the next two years.

With the addition of the courts, league play, Friday night events, a doubles tournament at Thanksgiving, the Baby Boomers and city tournament, interest will continue to grow. For more information, contact me, Patrick Rini, at prini@aol.com
