Dunlop has, as expected, been announced as the title sponsor for the 2005 British Open Championships. The dollar amount. of their sponsorship commitment has not been announced.

iSPORTmarketing who have the rights to the 2005 British Open, are operated by Paul Walters, former Squash Marketing Manger for Dunlop.

The 2005 Dunlop British Open Squash Championships will be staged at the National Squash Centre in Manchester, England from the 9th to 17th October, and is expected to feature the world’s leading male and female players, as well as a full programme of Masters events which will be split between the National Squash Centre and The Northern in Didsbury.

Toby Marcham, current Squash Marketing Manager of Dunlop was upbeat about the agreement: “Dunlop are delighted to be the title sponsor of the 2005 Dunlop British Open Squash Championships – Manchester. The unrivalled heritage of the British Open makes the event the most important Championships in the world and through our long-term agreement with iSPORTmarketing, we plan to showcase this blue ribbon event throughout the UK to stimulate the widest possible interest in the sport.”

"In addition to being the official ball of England Squash, we have had numerous associations with Dunlop over many years, but this is perhaps the most outstanding – and we look forward to working with the brand and iSPORTmarketing in this exciting new era for the British Open," said England Squash Chair Jackie Robinson.

The men’s Championship will be upgraded to a PSA 5 star level, which will be likely to encourage a world-class field expected to include World No1 and World Champion Thierry Lincou from France, defending Champion David Palmer from Australia, England's world No2 and three times British Champion Lee Beachill and the charismatic former Champion Jonathon Power from Canada.
