Top qualifying seed, Renan Lavigne, made quick work of Hungary's Sandor Fulop this afternoon in opening round qualifying action in Budapest.

In contrast, Hungary's top player, Mark Krajcsak, advanced into the final qualifying round after upsetting higher-ranked Lee Drew of England. Joey Barrington, a frequent training visitor to Budapest, also advanced, defeating Australia's Brad Hindle in the longest match of the day.

Qualifying play concludes Wednesday.
