8.14.00 KUALA LUMPUR:

Top seed Stephanie Brind of England strolled to a 9-0, 9-7, 9-3 win over Ellen Petersen of Denmark to reach the semi-finals of the OSK Malaysian Women's Open Squash Championship at the NSC Courts here yesterday.

Brind, the world number 12, will face Claire Nitch of South Africa for a place in the final. Nitch eliminated Vicky Botwright of England 9-1, 2-9, 10-8, 9-5.

The other semi-final is between Maha Zein of Egypt and New Zealand's Shelley Kitchen.
