WORLD SQUASH NEWSRESULTS: Toulouse Central Women's Open, Toulouse, FranceFinal: [1] Tegwen Malik (WAL) bt [4] Salma Shabana (EGY) 9/3 7/9 9/7 9/7 Tegwen Malik, 24, from Swansea in Wales, claimed her first WISPA World Tour title when she beat Egypt's Salma Shabana 9/3 7/9 9/7 9/7 in the final of the Toulouse Central Women's Open in France. Malik, ranked 22 in the world, was the event's top seed, while 22-year-old Shabana, from Cairo, was seeded four and reached the final after dismissing England's 2nd seed Tracey Shenton in the semi-finals. Semi-finals:
Welsh top seed Tegwen Malik, 24, from Swansea, reached her second career WISPA World Tour final when she beat England's Vicky Botwright, the 3rd seed from Manchester, 9/3 9/0 9/5 in the semi-finals of the Toulouse Central Women's Open in France. Her final opponent will be Egypt's Salma Shabana, the 22-year-old 4th seed from Cairo, who upset England's 2nd seed Tracey Shenton 10/8 10/8 9/0 in the other semi-final to reach her first WISPA final for more than two years.
