Marsh and McLennan Open moves to finals in Rye New York All England in semis Men's semi-finals: [4] Del Harris (ENG) bt [8] Chris Walker (ENG) 15/11 15/7 15/11 Women's semi-finals: [1] Linda Charman (ENG) bt [3] Suzanne Horner (ENG) 9/1 9/2 9/1 English qualifier Nick Taylor stormed into the final of the $40,000 Marsh & McLennan Apawamis Squash Open in New York, USA, when he beat world No14 Welshman David Evans 15/9 15/12 15/9 in the semi-finals of the first PSA Tour event of the New Year. Taylor, the 28-year-old world No33 from Manchester, had earlier defeated the Canadian third seed Graham Ryding. Taylor will meet compatriot Del Harris, the No4 seed from Essex, who beat fellow Colchester-raised Chris Walker, the 1996 Apawamis champion and England captain, 15/11 15/7 15/11. It will be world No15 Harris' second appearance in a PSA Tour final since last August when he won the Regatas Open in Peru. For Taylor, a quarter-finalist in the 1999 Marsha & McLennan event, it will be his first final appearance since winning the Lyon Open in France in March 1997. It will be Charman's first appearance in a WISPA World Tour final since reaching the climax of the Carol Weymuller Open in New York last October - and is Geaves' fifth successive tour final in the USA since reaching the Apawamis final in January 1997.

The women's final will also be an all-English affair - between top seed Linda Charman, the world No3 from Hailsham in Sussex, and No2 seed Fiona Geaves, the world No8 from Gloucester. Charman, the beaten finalist in New York last year, overcame compatriot Suzanne Horner 9/1 9/2 9/1, while in the other semi-final Geaves dismissed Netherlands' 4th seed Vanessa Atkinson 10/9 9/3 9/1.
