Semi-finals report

English qualifier Paul Lord, 29, from Derby, fought through to the final of the Duffield Morson International Squash Championship in Derbyshire, after beating 2^nd seed Zarak Jahan Khan, the former world No 8 from Pakistan, 15/6 15/5 15/4.

His opponent will be Australia's 4^th seed Joseph Kneipp who removed English top seed Marcus Berrett, 23, from Halifax in Yorkshire, 15/12 15/7 17/16.

The top seed in the women's event also failed to reach the final - England's Tracey Shenton lost 8/10 9/7 9/0 8/10 9/6 to 27-year-old compatriot Alison Wray, the 4th seed from Huddersfield in Yorkshire. Wray now faces world junior champion Tania Bailey, the 19-year-old from Lincolnshire who came back from a game down to defeat Lancashire's Vicky Botwright 5/9 9/2 9/0 9/1. 15/7 15/11 15/12.

Within two weeks of making his senior debut for England in the Dunlop SRA 'England v Rest of the World' Test Series, 21-year-old 3^rd seed Lee Beachill crashed out of the first round of the Duffield Morson International Squash Championship in Derbyshire, beaten 13/15 12/15 15/11 15/8 15/6 by compatriot Paul Lord, a 29-year-old qualifier from Derby.

Lord continued his giant-killing run through to the semi-finals by overcoming Pakistan's 7th seed Mir Zaman Gul 15/5 17/15 15/6 in the quarter-finals. In the women's event, England's sixth-seeded Vicky Botwright, from Manchester, defeated compatriot and 2nd seed Karen Hargreaves 8/10 9/5 9/6 9/5 to produce an all-English semi-final line-up.
