WORLD SQUASH NEWS

TOP SEEDS DARWISH & GAULTIER IN WORLD JUNIOR FINAL
Top seeds Kareem Darwish and Gregory Gaultier will meet in Saturday's final of the Men's World Junior Squash Championships in Italy after straight games victories in today's (Friday 21 July) semi-finals at the Vico Club in Milan. Favourite Darwish became the fourth successive Egyptian world junior finalist when he beat Pakistan's 17-year-old Shahid Zaman 9-6 9-4 9-3.

The 18-year-old from Cairo, winner of the British Junior Open title last December, has not dropped a game throughout the tournament, and beat Pakistan's national junior champion from Quetta in 49 minutes.

It took Gregory Gaultier more than an hour to become the first ever Frenchman to reach the climax of a world junior championship. The 17-year-old No2 seed from Aix-en-Provence had to work hard to keep his 16-year-old opponent James Willstrop at bay, ultimately overcoming the Englishman from Yorkshire 10-9 9-4 10-8 in 64 minutes to repeat his win in last April's European Junior Championships' final.
