Linda Charman, number 11th ranked WISPA player, scored a major upset
in the first round of a WISPA Grand Prix event in Germany this weekend.
Michelle Martin defeated Cassie Jackman in 4 games in the finals of

Tania Bailey, reigning world junior champion won her second SRA event
in recent weeks with a convincing win in the Duffield Morson International,

USA
College women's 1999 Howe cup tournament took place at Harvard University
in Cambridge, MA last weekend (Feb 19-21 1999). This event is of great
interest to women squash worldwide. The finals of this tournament attracted
approximately 1000 spectators! The participating 9-woman teams came
from 28 colleges and universities. The tournament is written up on SquashTalk
(with photos) on: the college page, on
a dedicated Howe cup page,
and in articles in The
Daily Princetonian online newspaper. Also, The
US women's college website has the team lineup and some photos.

Sarah
Fitz-gerald is currently planning a USA exhibition tour, to take place
April 28th through May 10th. The exhibition is being planned by Aidan
Harrison. Peter Nicol and Chris Walker are also planning an extended
exhibition tour in the USA this spring. These two tours signal the top
players' frustration with the postponement of the British Open, and
their own steps to compensate for it in terms of their own exposure.
