Dear Editor,

Thank you for the Global Gallery's positive assessment of the urban squash movement (July 15). We are, as ever, grateful for SquashTalk's belief in and commitment to urban squash.

Similarly, we wish to acknowledge another organization that has been supportive of our efforts. While US Squash admittedly was not quick to get behind urban squash in its early years in the mid-90's, the Association has been increasingly involved since then. Among other things, US Squash now provides large financial grants to new urban programs, discounts fees on tournament entries for our programs, and organizes coaching training weekends for our urban program coaches. As a small but personal example of US Squash's commitment to urban squash, Vijay Chitnis, the Director of Junior Development, National Teams and Events, has attended the Urban Individual Nationals in Groton, MA for the past four years. For these reasons and others, Kevin Klipstein, US Squash's CEO, was invited to be a board member of the recently formed National Urban Squash and Education Association (NUSEA). NUSEA and its member programs are grateful for US Squash's partnership and support.

Sincerely,

Greg Zaff, Executive Director, NUSEA
David Kay, Executive Director, METROsquash
George Polsky, Executive Director, StreetSquash
Tim Wyant, Executive Director, CitySquash
Steve Gregg, Executive Director, SquashSmarts
