[Individual Draw]

Can Anyone Stop Raneem?

Hong Kong, 31 July 2007 – The highly anticipated 2007 Junior Women's World Championships Individual draw begins tomorrow morning in Hong Kong.

There's really only one story: Can anyone stop Raneem? Raneem El Weliely, the defending champion, is actively playing on the WISPA tour, with excellent results.

But this is one tournament, on one weekend, with lots of pressure. A strong field, which includes Camille Serme from France, Annie Au from Hong Kong, Joelle King from Australia, and Low Wee Wern from Australia, all of whom have the potential to tak the title if Raneem has an off day or an unexpected case of nerves.

For the rest, the desire of all the entrants to excel in the individuals has to be measured against each nation's chances in the team event. With a lot of squash for these players packed into a non-stop eleven days, that player management is the responsibility of the coaches.

The Egyptian and Malaysian teams are looking very strong. England is poised for a potentially strong performance and the USA comes in with a balanced team that is certainly one of their best ever.
