Fittingly, at this low-key event held on a New England college campus, college alumni fared well on the first day of qualifying at the Berkshire Open.

Harvard alum and intercollegiate champion, Sid Suchde, advanced at the expense of Laurent Elriani, Penn alum Gilly Lane advanced over England's Joe Lee, and Dartmouth alum Ryan Donegan advanced over Canada's Tyler Hamilton.
