PLAYERS CUP STANDINGS AFTER SEMIFINALS OF Richmond event.

With just the final of the Davenport Pro Squash Tournament to go the standings in the Players Cup series is set. Although James Willstrop could improve his position  to third, this would make very little difference. The important facet is that both Ramy Ashour and Gregory Gaultier have declined the invitation to the playoffs in Boston, leaving two vacancies.

Promoter John Nimick has instituted a qualifying event involving Cameron Pilley, John White Hisham Ashour and Julian Illingworth, the next four in the standings as well as inviting Chris Gordon, Yasser El Halaby and  Rafael Alarcon to participate  for a chance in the final eight.

John White and Hisham Ashour each receive a bye and will play Monday night against the winners of Sunday's pre-qualifying matches.

Sunday's matches are:
 Yasser El Halaby v Christopher Gordon (winner to play John White)
 Julian Illingworth v. Rafael Alarcon (winner to play Hisham Ashour).
