EGYPT'S STAR STILL ASCENDING    DRAWS: [BU19]     [GU19]      [GU17]

There is no clearer signal of Egypt's total dominance in the squash world than this week's British Junior Open. In today's quarterfinals, Egypt's percocious star, Mohamed El Shorbagy, continued his march through the Boy's U19 draw, while in the Girl's U19, Boy's U17, Girls U15 and Girls U13 draws ALL FOUR semi finalists, in each case, will be Egyptian.

Out of a total of 32 semi final berths, 24 are occupied by Egyptian players. This is a phenomenal level of dominance by one country.

NORTH AMERICAN BRIGHT LIGHTS
The USA is putting one of the few dampers on the Egyptian stampede, with two Americans, Amanda Sobhy and Olivia Blatchford, reaching the Girls U17 semis, where Blatchford will meet Egyptian Nour el Tayeb while Sobhy will meet Englishwoman, Emily Whitlock. Whitlock, in fact, is the sole English represetative in the final four of any of these four marquee flights, a chastening fall to earth for the junior program which as recently as a few seasons ago was always a leader in the women's flights. Also from the USA, Dylan Murray is a semi finalist in the boys' under fifteen flight.
