College Head Coach Position

Men’s and Women’s SQUASH / INSTRUCTOR

The Department of Recreational Sports at Colgate University is seeking applicants for a coaching position with our men’s and women’s squash clubs. The position is a part-time position with expectations for on-site coaching in during the months of September – November, 2007 and from late January through the end of both collegiate seasons in late February, 2008. The responsibilities will consist of assisting with the Men’s and Women’s Squash Club programs in the areas of coaching and match preparation. The position and compensation will be flexible, depending on the availability and qualifications of the successful candidate. The individual hired may either relocate to Hamilton, New York for the period of employment to run daily practices and assist with competitive events; or come to campus or matches on an intermittent basis as his/her schedule allows to meet with the teams and provide coaching instruction. The opportunity to teach Squash classes and seminars in non-major Physical Education program may be an option, depending on schedule. Candidate must demonstrate: a significant knowledge of squash, plus 2-3 years of work-related experience including playing and/or coaching at the collegiate or an equivalently high level; a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; good communication skills and strong leadership; and knowledge and commitment to University and club sport regulations. If traveling with the team, a valid driver’s license is required.
