The Germantown Cricket Club is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the Northwest section of the city. Incorporated in 1854, it has a beautiful, historically certified clubhouse designed by architects McKim, Mead & White. It is a full service club with 825 families and includes squash, fitness, tennis, swimming, cricket, bowling, with restaurant and dining facilities.
The club’s squash program dates back to 1900 and has a strong reputation for high quality coaching and junior development. Over the past 10 years, the club has produced over 30 national champions and national team members (both adults and juniors), and continues to grow. The recently renovated Squash facilities include 5 international singles and 2 North American doubles courts.
The Club is currently seeking an assistant squash professional for the upcoming season, starting September, 2008. The successful candidate must demonstrate superior playing and coaching ability and be able to train a broad range of players, from elite juniors to beginners. The position requires participation in all aspects of the squash program, including teaching private lessons and clinics, administration of in-house leagues, running tournaments, and all other traditional activities of a private club squash program. Other aspects of the position include: Assisting in running a comprehensive summer camp program and coaching a local school team that utilizes Germantown’s courts.
The assistant pro will join a staff of two other professionals for a 12-month position.
Compensation includes competitive salary, lesson and clinic fees, camp remuneration, school coaching fee, and complete health and pension benefit package.
