Jenson and Casteleyn Continue Comeback Quests   [Mens and Womens Draws]

By Ron Beck.

Belgian international Stefan Casteleyn, quietly continued on his comeback road today in Macau, ousting Omar El Borolossy in four games. Castleyn, a former top-tenner as recently as a year ago, has suffered through both injuries and a playing slump over the past year. This summer, he has quietly played his way back into form in a series of "satellite" tour events, and today made a strong showing into the semi final in Macau.

Another comeback candidate, Dan Jenson from Australia, also in the top ten a year and 1/2 ago, dismissed qualifier Tim Garner to earn a berth against hot Malaysian Ong Beng Hee.

On the women's side, World #2 Leilani Joyce had a ton of trouble with Scottish pro Wendy Maitland, losing the first game and then barely holding on to win the fourth 10-8. Joyce will now face a momentum-filled Stephanie Brind, while Owens has to content with Malaysian teenager Nicol David.

David, who made her first top twenty appearance this week, came back from two games down to defeat the exciting young Australian Natalie Grinham. Owens is expected to have too much experience for David, but look for David to make her big breakthrough, if not tomorrow, then in the near future.
