MY WORLD TEAMS JINX STRIKES AGAIN!

July 29: This is the 4th world team championships I have been involved in and it is unbelievebly the 3rd in which I have been struck down by injury or illness.

Here in Edmonton on saturday I was struck down with food poisoning and therefore missed our group matches against England and Austria. I played in the final group match against Hong Kong but I really struggled. Having finally seen a doctor after my match it seems I have had salmonella which probably explains why I have felt so ill and have been unable to eat properly for 4 days!! (this photo here wasn't taken this week.)

I will now have to concentrate on getting healthy again and see if i can play a further part in this world championship. This isnt really the tournament I was looking forward to so far! Although on the bright side my Irish team are into the quarter finals and we will finish higher than our ninth seeding.
