Third day reports: Martin Bronstein, and Lee Keng Fatt

The American team again had mixed results. Kate Rapisarda lost out a tough five game contest in the plate first round to Emma Toolan from Ireland, while Alex Pearson won a four game decision over Holland's Mijla Doorenbos. Rapisarda now moves into the consolation plate

In the main draw, Martin Bronstein reported on Michelle Quibell's strong showing over Sally Looi while Amy Gross fell in straight games to England's Alison Waters. Gross then moved into the classic plate (for third round losers) where she won her first match over Sandra Ziemelus of Germany.

Quibell's win had Malaysia's coach visibly upset, as he had been talking about Looi's possible upset of Quibell in the press.
